Ask Not What the ADM Can Do For You - Ask What You Can Do for the ADM

We are at a critical moment in the evolution of online media monetization. As Damon Berger from Revision 3 likes to say, “The tracks are being laid and next year the money train will show up.”

The same is true of the ADM. The last year has been an uphill battle of executive committee volunteers putting together all the organizational materials that have to be created to form a non profit organization and it’s not glamorous or fun. The executive committee of the ADM has volunteered many of their own personal hours organizing the organization and completing a set of advertising standards. They did a great job.

I know many of you have not seen the all the hard work that has gone into assembling this organization but let me tell you - THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF WORK DONE. I have only done a tiny, tiny little bit of that work and it more than got in my way of working on my own business. Others in this group have worked tirelessly and they deserve a round of applause.

That said, we are now at a point where we can use your help. Committees have been formed and you can sign up to help the Association for Downloadable Media.

If you are not yet a member of the ADM - JOIN NOW! If you know someone who should be a member, tell them about the ADM.

If you are already a member and want to know how you can help create that future just visit http://www.downloadablemedia.org/index.php/committees Then pick a committee, contact the committee chair, introduce yourself and Ask What You Can Do for the ADM.

Do it today.

The ADM is only going to be as good as you make it.

Thanks for the post! While we have made strides “under the radar” we can do a much better job as an organization communicating our progresses. Currently we are looking to address this shortfall through some part time communications activity in the form of a Director position. That job description will hit the member email lists as soon very shortly, and I suspect that with the right fulfillment of that position, we will have a lot better disclosure. Stay tuned!
